The first rains of sawan (monsoon) have a unique scent here in Rajasthan. It’s the smell of parched earth finally quenched, a fragrance that, for me, is forever tied to the festival of Teej. Growing up, I remember the pure joy of it all—the scent of fresh henna on my palms, the sight of decorated swings hanging from old trees, and the sound of my mother and aunts singing traditional folk songs.

But most vividly, I remember their sarees. Vibrant shades of green and red, symbolizing nature and love, draped with such elegance. Many of these were heirlooms, bearing the beautiful, soulful imperfections of hand-block prints from our very own Bagru. This deep-rooted connection between our festivals, our heritage, and the hands that create our clothes is the very soul of SA Fab. It’s why I started this journey.
