Natural dye colours are photographed in natural light so the images are as accurate as possible. However, because we use natural dyes rather than synthetic ones, slight variations in colour tone exist between batches and individual pieces. These variations are the hallmark of genuine natural dye printing, not a quality issue. In fact, they are what makes each shirt individual rather than identical to every other piece in the same style.

What is the difference between a Bagru print and a Sanganeri print?

Bagru printing is specific to Bagru village, Jaipur — the Chhipa community uses a resist-and-dye process with natural dyes in an earthy palette of madder red, indigo blue, and natural cream. The motifs are dense florals and traditional geometric repeats. Sanganeri block printing uses finer, more delicate motifs on lighter grounds with more botanical detail. In our collection, both traditions use natural dyes — so the Sanganeri styles are distinguished by finer motif detail and lighter grounds rather than by synthetic dyes.

How do I choose between a relaxed fit and a regular fit for a block printed shirt?

A relaxed or box fit gives more room through the chest and shoulders and falls straight without tapering at the waist. This works best for casual and resort wear, and for anyone who prefers more physical comfort through the body. A regular fit follows the body more closely and tapers slightly at the waist, creating a more composed silhouette that works better for office and festive occasions. Since all our shirts are pure cotton, both fits breathe equally well — the choice is purely about silhouette preference.

How do I care for a half sleeve block printed cotton shirt to prevent colour fading?

Accepted Answer

Cold wash separately for the first 2–3 washes — some natural dye release is normal and expected. After that, a gentle cold machine cycle with mild detergent works fine. Always dry in shade — never in direct sunlight, which degrades natural dye molecules over time. Iron on medium heat on the reverse side only. With this care, natural dye colours deepen slightly with every wash rather than fading flat.
